Northeastern Forest Alliance

501(c)(3) public charity · Since 2013

Shared forestry work across the northern four states.

Northeastern Forest Alliance is a small nonprofit that coordinates cross-state forestry work where Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York meet. We focus on shared problems that individual state forestry agencies cannot tackle alone: forest health across political boundaries, invasive species response, and data-sharing to support working forests.

What we do

Foster homes, not kennels.

Animals waiting on adoption with us sleep in real beds, get used to kids and other pets, and arrive at their new family with a behavior profile built over weeks, not a label stuck to a crate.

Cross-State Forestry Coordination

Regular convenings of state foresters, land trusts, and private forestry practitioners across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York.

Invasive Species Monitoring

Shared data collection on emerald ash borer, hemlock woolly adelgid, beech leaf disease, and other pests that travel across state lines. Results available to members and agencies.

Working Forest Support

Technical resources for family forest owners: management plan templates, conservation easement primers, and estate transfer guidance.

Every dollar moves an animal closer to home.

Our budget is public. Over 91% of donations go directly to animal care, not overhead or fundraising.
